Ian is CEO of IBA and joined in 2020. Ian has a background in software, technology and data systems, as well as asset management, project finance and professional services.

Ian is an engineer by training but started his career in investment banking with JP Morgan Chase specialising in asset backed lending and loan syndication. Ian went on to found Matrix Solutions, an international financial services data company providing market-wide data analytics systems to the asset management industry. Matrix was sold to Factset Information Systems in 2014, and after integrating Matrix into Factset's Market Metrics division, the combined unit was sold to Genstar backed Strategic Insight in 2016.

Ian has a keen interest in aviation and holds a private pilot's licence.
