REACH Review Actions

In 2018 the EU Commission concluded in its REACH review that this framework was operating effectively.  However, the report also identified areas of improvement which are identified and explained in this article published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on 12 September.

In particular, ECHA is looking to enhance risk management, tracking substances of concern in the supply chain, enhancing safety data sheet quality, improving the restrictions and substitutions process, providing more support to SMEs.  More information can be found in the article linked above.

Updated Chemicals Database

ECHA has recently improved its chemicals database.  More information is now available on properties of concern as well as on nanoform substances; furthermore, the clearer structure and strengthened linking in the substance Infocard (the first layer of information for a specific substance) makes it easier to find exactly the information of interest.
